Easy Spicy Sausage and Bean casserole

With the weather still on the chilly side, I like a nice comforting dish.  This ticks the box nicely, ifsfull of flavour, and cheap to make.

8 sausages (I use gluten free)
A little oil for frying
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
4 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 - 1 tsp Cayenne pepper (it is quite hot so try 1/2 then add more if you like heat)
1 tsp mixed herbs
Black pepper to taste
Handful fresh parsley finely chopped
1 can baked beans in tomato sauce
1 can red kidney beans, drained
1 can borlotti beans, drained
Approx, 1/2 cup water

Fry the sausages in a little oil until browned and cooked through. Drain off most of the oil and add the garlic and cook for a couple more minutes. Stir in the ketchup, molasses,  and a little of the water. Add the herbs and spices and stir well. Stir in the beans. Add enough water to make a thick sauce and adjust seasoning to your taste. Warm through thoroughly and serve with crusty bread or a baked potato.
